Kurzbiographie

Johannes Balve, 1957 in Düsseldorf geboren, promovierter Literaturwissenschaftler, Philosoph, Bildungswissenschaftler, Autor und Essayist, arbeitete für internationale Organisationen, lehrte und forschte an deutschen und ausländischen Universitäten - zuletzt als o. Professor in Japan an der Universität Kanazawa. Literaturwissenschaftliche Forschungsschwerpunkte: Ästhetik und Romantheorie, weitere Schwerpunkte: kulturvergleichende Bildungsforschung. Veröffentlichungen in verschiedenen deutschen und internationalen Fachzeitschriften, Reportagen über Japan für überregionale Tageszeitungen., Publikation mehrere Bücher, darunter eine Einführung in die Literatur- und Sprachgeschichte (dtv), ein Gedichtband Ausflüge, (PalmArtPress, 2022), ein Roman Kirschblüte in Fukushima (PalmArtPress 2024), ein Kinderbuch Abenteuer mit Fitzepitz (Edition Maya 2024), Essays in überregionalen Zeitungen und Zeitschriften. Johannes Balve ist verheiratet, hat eine Tochter und lebt in Berlin und Bonn.

 

CV 

Johannes Balve, studied German Literature, Linguistics and Philosophy. He holds a doctorate in German literature. He has taught and conducted research at German and foreign institutes and universities since 1990. Until 2014 he was Professor for German Literature and European Culture at the University of Kanazawa in Japan. His academic essays have been published in various German and international journals. He has written several books, including an introduction to literarture and linguistics (Das Wichtigste über Literatur und Sprache, 2006, dtv). He has written reports on Japan for national German newspapers (Die Welt, Die Presse, Rheinischer Merkur).
He currently works as an author and essayist. Poems have been published (Ausflüge, PalmArtPress) in 2022, a novel on Japan „Kirschblüte in Fukushima“ in 2024 as well as a children's book „Abenteuer mit Fitzepitz“ (Edition Maya). Some of his essays have recently been published in Lettre International and the Neue Zürcher Zeitung.
He lives in Berlin and Bonn.
